We have made the decision to discontinue our support for Conelcom Hotspots and the Helium Network in general. We understand that this news may come as a disappointment, but we want to be transparent about the reasons behind our decision.
The reality is that, despite our best efforts, we were unable to provide the level of service and support that we had hoped for. Furthermore, we recognize that the Helium Network itself has faced its own challenges and has struggled to meet the expectations of its users. We have not seen the usage of the network grow as we had hoped, and it has not become the serious player in the industry that we had anticipated.
Despite the initial hype and excitement around the network, it has not gained the widespread adoption that many had hoped for. This is not to say that the technology behind the Helium Network is not promising or that it cannot be successful in the future. However, for us, the reality is that we can no longer justify the resources and investment that we have put into supporting this network.
Moving forward, we have partnered with Nebra Ltd. to manage our hotspots and provide repair and support services. We believe that this company is better positioned to provide the quality of service and support that our customers deserve.
We understand that this news may be disappointing to some of our users, and we apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this may cause. We remain committed to exploring new technologies and supporting decentralized networks, but we must also be responsible and make the best decisions for our business and our customers.
The CONELCOM Hotspot Team
The migration is currently in preparation and first test devices are currently being migrated to Nebra’s remote management infrastructure. If tests go well, migration will be completed until the first week of March at latest.
In the next couple of days and weeks, the team of CONELCOM Hotspot will migrate their management infrastructure to Nebra Ltd., so that Nebra Ltd. has access to the hotspots and is able to support them remotely. A new image will be installed on the SD card during that process, as well as a new management dashboard.
Nebra Ltd. will be responsible for onboarding new devices going forward and will announce the process for this in a follow up announcement.
This will most likely be using the Nebra app which you can get at https://nebra.io/apple for iOS or https://nebra.io/google for Android users.

It can take a few days or weeks until the migration to Nebra’s support infrastructure is successful. During the migration time, support will only be possible on a limited basis.
Please contact Nebra for more information. CONELCOM will provide spare parts for the CONELCOM Hotspots like housings, screws and other components to Nebra Ltd., so that they can adequately handle hardware support requests.

If you plan to buy Controllino Hotspot or Controllino Hotspot Pro, first order the products, and then make a new order for the Hotspot Apps license.
Otherwise, your license will be sent later when the products in your cart are sent as well.
We will be opening up Pre-orders for Batch 3 starting at some day next week, between Sep. 13 2021 and Sep. 19 2021. We will NOT publish the date and time beforehand for obvious reasons.

As most of you already know, we have now finished our successful launch campaign for Batch 1 and 2 through our waitlist. Although it was quite an amount of work to manage all pre-orders, inquiries and messages in the last couple of weeks, the effort was worth it: the pre-orders were very organized, our server infrastructure was rock-stable and we got amazing feedback from the community.
